ballet performed by the younger children of the Imperial Hapsburg family to celebrate the marriage of their elder brother Joseph II to his second wife, the Bavarian princess, Maria Josepha of Bavaria (1739-67); Archduchess Marie-Antoinette (1755-93) played the role of the bride, Archduke Ferdinand portrayed the groom and Archduke Maximilian was Cupid; L to R: Christine and Therese von Clary, Christine and Pauline von Auersperg; male roles played by Frederic von Fuerstenberg, Franz Xavier von Auersperg, Joseph and Wenceslas von Clary; 'The Triumph of Love' was a one act opera written by Gassmann with libretto by Metastasio; copy of the original painting in Vienna commissioned in 1778 by Marie-Antoinette for her dining room in the Grand Trianon;
